My name is Suzanne and I am married to a wonderful man by the name of Dale. We inherited his Mom and Dad's place after his mom passed away last November. Little did we know that her passing would throw us into a whole new world.
We inherited 3 acres, a larger home and a yard full of chickens. Now I know absolutely nothing about chickens then. Now, I can feed and gather eggs fairly well. I have hand raised some guineas. Why guineas you ask, well, guineas are great watchdogs, they will squawk and carry on like nobody's business if something seems "wrong" to them. They also keep snakes away (which is a good thing) and they eat ticks and other insects.
So the object of this blog is to document our progress in working on our little farm and getting prepared for almost any type of emergency.
